How do I know what caster I need for my application
If you’re replacing an existing caster, it’s easy to find a replacement either with part numbers or measurements, such as the mounting style and measurements, wheel diameter, etc.
When shopping for new casters, we recommend thinking about the following before you browse so you’re not overwhelmed by your search.
- Load Capacity: How much weight will each caster bear on your equipment?
- Flood Conditions: Will your caster be on pavement, wood, carpet, or something else? Will it face frequent exposure to water, dirt, grime, or chemicals? Is the floor even or rough? Does the floor need to be protected from markings?
- Rolling Ease and Ergonomics: How often are people pushing and pulling the equipment these casters will be on? Larger casters roll easier than small ones!
- Unique Conditions: Will the casters be exposed to high temperatures or flash freezes? Are there strict height requirements for the equipment your casters will mount to?
If you know the answers to these questions before you shop, you’ll be well equipped to browse our selection or talk to a sales representative.
